Adam Williamson is a proud member of Moose Deer Point First Nation with strong family ties to Manitoulin Island. Adam has dedicated his legal career to advancing the rights of First Nations peoples. His practice focuses on Aboriginal and Treaty rights litigation, child and family services reform, and national-level policy development.
Adam received his JD from Western Law in 2011 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2012.
Prior to joining Nahwegahbow Corbiere, Adam served as in-house counsel for a national First Nations advocacy organization. He has appeared before all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and has contributed to legal and policy reform on a national scale. Adam played a central role in negotiating the historic Final Settlement Agreement that secured compensation for First Nations children and families harmed by Canada’s discriminatory child and family services system. He was also part of the negotiation team responsible for advancing long-term systemic reform, including the Draft Final Agreement on the First Nations Child and Family Services Program and legislative developments such as Bill C-61.
Adam is a member of The Advocates’ Society and the Indigenous Bar Association. He has been invited to speak at professional development events, including sessions hosted by the Law Society of Ontario and other national forums.
Adam’s work is grounded in a strong commitment to Indigenous self-determination, justice, and community well-being.
We provide services in the field of Aboriginal Law. In this regard, we act strictly for First Nations, First Nation Organizations and their members.
