The Firm

Nahwegahbow Corbiere originated in 1982. Our Firm acts exclusively for First Nation individuals, communities and organizations, and our practice is restricted to Aboriginal law. We provide general representation for First Nations in all matters related to governance, as well as specialized work in Aboriginal and Treaty Rights litigation and negotiation. We have a comprehensive network of highly qualified experts in archival research, anthropology, history, Aboriginal policy and other disciplines regionally, nationally and internationally. This ensures that we can take full advantage of research while keeping expenses within your budget.

Our Commitment

The legal team at Nahwegahbow Corbiere is committed to quality in the service we provide to our clientele. Our goal is to provide high-quality advice and legal work in a manner suited to First Nations people in the most cost-effective and efficient way. We can do this because we are rooted in the First Nation community. Located at Rama Reserve, in Anishinabek territory, our Firm prioritizes hiring First Nation lawyers, as well as First Nation law students and support staff.

Our commitment to creating good working relationships, within the context of significant and complex cases, is an integral part of the excellent history and reputation of our Firm. David Nahwegahbow and Dianne Corbiere are well respected senior Aboriginal lawyers. Both have recognized expertise in the area of First Nation governance, Aboriginal and Treaty rights and constitutional law.
